DESCRIPTION:This session will provide an overview of the different components of Rhode Island’s Homeless Response System and the requirements of each component. Components covered will include regional access points\, street outreach\, emergency shelter\, rapid rehousing\, and permanent supportive housing. \nLearning Objectives\n1. Participants understand basics of homeless response system design – CES\, HMIS\, crisis services\, access points\, rehousing services\, and partnerships with adjacent systems.\n2. Participants understand eligible CoC activities by component type\, homeless definition\, and eligibility.\n3. Participants understand CoC terms\, definitions\, long-standing policy approaches.\n4. Participants understand role that direct care workers play in advancing CoC system goals \nThe training will be held virtually over Zoom.

Participants understand strategies for engagement\, intake\, assessment\, and housing planning using trauma-responsive strategies.\n2. Participants are able to differentiate roles and responsibilities within the homeless response system for initial contact\, triage\, intake\, housing assessment\, housing planning\, warm hand-offs among crisis response providers\, navigators\, and housing stabilization staff. \nThe training will be held virtually over Zoom.
